Game Informer is being exceptionally coy about the reveal of its latest cover which displays the latest game in the Gears of War series. To the point that we'd hesitate to call it a cover reveal, considering half of it is shrouded in darkness.
Though they're saying it's the next game in the Gears of War series, they're not calling it Gears of War 4, and the character in the center of the image - bound in chains - has had his torso blocked out. While we've got no idea what's going on here, it's exciting news nonetheless.
Perhaps more exciting than ever considering it hasn't been emblazoned with the GoW4 logo. Could this mean that Microsoft is producing a spinoff series like Halo ODST? We'd love to see a Gears of War game that broke from the series' conventions and focused on a character besides Marcus Fenix.
But according to Game Informer we'll have to wait until Microsoft's official press conference to get the full details. With all this said, we called this one.
