A new trailer has appeared online for Creed, in which Michael B. Jordan stars as young Adonis Johnson, son of Apollo Creed, who decides to follow in his dad’s footsteps in becoming a fighter. And who better to coach him than Rocky Balboa himself?
That’s right, Sylvester Stallone is back in fighting form once more as the legendary scrapper, who sees in Johnson the raw materials to make a champ. He’s even able to catch a chicken with a minimum of fuss. Check out the new trailer, below…
While many anticipated plenty of blistering in-ring action, it’s the emotional punch packed by this latest trailer that took me slightly by surprise. Jordan is a hugely talented actor, and it looks like this reunion with Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler is going to give him another chance to shine. Co-starring Tessa Thompson, Graham McTavish and Wood Harris, Creed will open in the US on November 25, 2015 and the UK on February 19, 2016.
