Contrary to what you may have read elsewhere, MotorStorm is at this year's E3 - and we have the footage to prove it. Download the three-minute movie above and you'll be able to feast your eyes on the first ever in-game footage of the PS3 desert racer.

The big question, of course, is whether the game's visuals can come anywhere close to matching the near-photorealistic teaser trailer that was shown at last year's E3. The answer: well, almost.

MotorStorm is the best-looking playable PS3 game we've yet seen. And while the in-game graphics can't match the astonishing aesthetic overload of 2005's infamous promo clip, they're close enough that you don't feel cheated - especially given that the game is still six months from release.

Graphical intrigue aside, MotorStorm is also in the curious position of having been noticeably absent from both Sony's pre-show conference and day one of the E3 show itself, only to then miraculously appear in the form of a one-track playable demo on day two.

The reason? According to senior producer Pete Smith, the intention was always to demo the game at Monday's Sony conference. But it just wasn't ready. "We're making a huge amount of progress every day," he told us. "In two days we went from a point where we weren't ready for the conference but today we are ready."

Fact slap: the final game will feature 12-15 tracks, seven different vehicle types and an online function that will support up to 16 players. We're genuinely excited about MotorStorm and we'll be getting hands-on with it later today. So keep it Radar.
