In addition to the plenty-deep Road to the Show, there’s some welcome new gameplay tweaks that we hoped would arrive in MLB 07 The Show. Primarily, the dev team has given the batting the same treatment it gave pitching last year with its confidence-based Pitch Command system.
Basically, it’s a performance enhancement (of the non-steroid persuasion, of course) fluctuated up and down based on the frequency and accuracy of specific pitches thrown, which will now carry over to your batting with the new Progressive Batting Performance feature. Using 5 icons, you’ll be able to tell at a glance if you’re connecting and getting a contact bonus or if you’re lulling into a slump and facing a decrease in contact and need to step up your game.
