A blood-spattered new Macbeth trailer has appeared, starring Michael Fassbender as the titular monarch and Marion Cotillard as his power-crazed queen. And if previous footage had already hinted at the grand sweep of Justin Kurzel’s film, this latest teaser is nothing short of epic… The new trailer packs in plenty of footage of Macbeth on the battlefield, while also touching on some of the bloody misdeeds involved in his pursuit of the crown. Meanwhile, Cotillard watches on, a study in scheming malevolence. Expect intensity, and plenty of it. Here it is:
Both Fassbender and Cotillard already look shoo-ins for award nominations, while Kurzel’s murky, smoky style appears set to deliver atmosphere galore. Co-starring David Thewlis, Elizabeth Debicki and Sean Harris, Macbeth will open in the UK on October 2, 2015 and the US on December 4, 2015.
