Focus Features has confirmed the forthcoming release of Olympus Has Fallen sequel, London Has Fallen, with both Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart confirmed to be starring.
The film, scheduled to open in the US on 2 October 2015, will see Butler return as security specialist Mike Banning alongside Eckhart’s Head of State, Benjamin Asher.
This time around, Banning and Eckhart will be attending the London-based funeral of the British Prime Minister, who has recently died in mysterious circumstances.
However, it soon transpires that the funeral is being targeted by terrorists as part of a fiendish plot to wipe out a whole batch of world leaders in one go.
Needless to say, Butler is going to have plenty to keep his trigger finger busy. A director has yet to be named for the project, while a UK release date is expected to be confirmed in due course.
