His older brother Chris will be appearing next year as Thor in Joss Whedon's Avengers, and now Liam Hemsworth has landed a role with his very own bunch of 2012 beefcakes.
Liam joins Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jean Claude Van-Damme, Chuck Norris and Randy Couture in Expendables 2 , an action-sequel so masculine it could probably make men pregnant.
And with John Travolta, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Nic Cage and Terry Crews all rumoured to be appearing, Hemsworth is probably going to spend the first few weeks on set wondering if he's experiencing some sort of fever dream.
Basically, if they shot The Avengers in the ‘80s that's what the cast would look like.
We're not sure who would play Black Widow, though. Statham?
What Chris thinks of his little brother getting in on the 2012 ensemble-movie action is as yet unconfirmed, as is who would win if the Avengers and Expendables ever had a fight.
Now there's a sequel we'd pay good money to see...
