As he prepares to relaunch his wisecracking X-Man with a whole new franchise, Hugh Jackman has been talking up X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
According to the thesp, he’s happy for it to be a different beast than previous X-team outings, as he’s looking more towards the likes of Batman Begins as a template. “We are dealing with a character who is probably one of the darker comic book characters ever created,” Jackman told MTV . “The movie has a lot of fun elements, but there are layers of pain and darkness to this character.”
And the pressure’s on – as Marvel is hoping that Wolverine will not only power its own franchise, but also help launch the likes of Magneto. Oh, and if people like this one, Hugh’s more than happy to make sequels. Sounds good to us…
