This door is great because: It is sealed with an ancient puzzle that requires the moving and rotating and lining-up of things in a specific way. Behind the door waits a dramatic cut-scene and 50 Achievement points.
Psychonauts | Mind doors
This door is great because: It occupies the Collective Unconscious, which is basically a hub where all the levels (or Mental Worlds as they are referred to in the game) can be accessed once completed. In conclusion, you could say these doors are mental.
Portal | Aperture Science Relaxation Vault door which is a portal
This door is great because: It takes you by surprise when youre expecting the Aperture Science Relaxation Vault exit to be a regular sort of science facility door but when it appears its a portal and you can see yourself (i.e. Chell) on the opposite wall, which is actually an adjacent wall and it only appears to be opposite because of all the perspective bending portal science stuff. Either way, the door which is a portal is great.
Zombies Ate My Neighbours | Magically appearing exit door
This door is great because: If it never appeared there would be no way to access the next level. There would only be Level 1.
Alan Wake | Axe door
This door is great because: Its inspired by the bathroom door from Stanley Kubrick horror masterpiece The Shining, which is definitely one of the most famous doors in movie history.
Rez | Doors inside a computer
This door is great because: It rotates and can only be opened by shooting it and shooting it makes a semi-rhythmical clapping sound. Its also exactly what wed expect doors inside an existentially troubled computer super network to be like.
House of the Dead | Zombie axe door
This door is great because: AXE ZOMBIE IS COMING THROUGH THE DOOR!!!!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare | Exploding door of temporal deceleration
This door is great because: Its purpose is to be exploded by the placement of a breaching charge. Once exploded, time dilation often occurs, allowing enemies to be dispatched in slow motion. It is not known why this phenomenon occurs.

This door is great because: Hey, thats the same sound as the Doom door makes!
