Lost Rift is the brand new survival game coming from the studio behind Bulletstorm and Painkiller
Was that a... giant gorilla?!
Lost Rift, the new survival game from People Can Fly, has been been officially revealed at the Future Games Show with a new trailer that shows us what to expect from their latest creation. And that includes a tropical island, ominous ruins, giant jumping spiders, and... a really big monkey? You have my attention, People Can Fly.
If the name of the studio sounds familiar, PCF have been responsible for a lot of cult classic shooters over the past two decades, including Painkiller, Bulletstorm and Outriders. Bulletstorm in particular is something of a guilty pleasure of mine, but Lost Rift is looking like a very different animal.
Worked on under the title Project Victoria for two years, the result appears to be a survival game that looks a little like the Forest, but with elements of Sea of Thieves and Ark: Survival Evolved in the design. We see players washing up on a beach, scavenging an old crossbow, and things quickly go haywire from there, with tombs full of uncertain horrors, spiders that throw themselves at your head like they've been taking lessons from Facehuggers, other human enemies out for your blood, and even a relative of King Kong to round us off.
Lost Rift doesn't have a release date yet, but it's planned for Early Access on Steam, and you can wishlist it there right now and check out all the details for yourself. Alternatively, you can go to the developers' Discord for more info about Lost Rift and what's to come!
