Team up with friends and platform across an unknown planet in Popucom, a cute co-op puzzle game

The latest trailer for vibrant puzzle game Popucom, shown at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase provides a great look at the colorful conundrums you’ll face in co-op play.

Hypergryph’s debut game, which launched on June 2, lets you join your friends on an adventure across a mysterious exoplanet overrun by unusual creatures. It’s your job to use color-changing, match-3, and platforming mechanics to clear and restore the planet in co-operative story mode for two players and party mode for three to four players.

You’ll need to change your adventurer’s colors to solve all sorts of physics puzzles and change the colors of your Pomu gel shooter for combat. Fighting many of Popucom’s enemies involves shooting their colorful limbs, gradually wearing them down with each match of three. Think Astro Bot meets Portal meets Candy Crush.

You and your pals will also come across super artifacts during your exoplanet adventure. These provide unique powers to get past certain obstacles in your way, from Rollo the Bomb to Power Kid.

Outside of story mode and party mode, you can customize your adventurer’s attire and choose from a massive range of cosmetics and clothing to make them look how you want. Finally, if you don’t feel like stretching your brain on puzzles in the main game, you can also kick back with a friend and play some arcade-style mini-games.

Popucom is out now on PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, but you can still buy the game with a 10% discount on Steam.
