From Imagine Dragons' lead singer and manager, Last Flag kicks the classic capture the flag mode up a notch, and it's coming to PC this April and consoles in the summer
Last Flag aims to recapture the fun of classic CTF while adding unique contestants and a groovy aesthetic
Last Flag shows off more of its Contestants in a new trailer at this year's Future Games Show Spring Showcase powered by HyperX, as well as its April 14 PC release and summer target for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Inspired by Night Street Games' founders Dan and Mac Reynold's (that's the lead singer of Imagine Dragons and the band's manager) childhood memories of playing capture the flag outdoors, the studio's debut title pits two teams of five against each other to claim the opposing team's flag in a 1970s-inspired gameshow.
However, both teams get to hide their own flag before trying to capture their opponents', so part of the challenge of Last Flag is finding the flags in the first place. Once you've retrieved the enemy flag, victory is achieved by taking it back to your base and defending it from enemy hands for one minute.
Players also get to pick from nine unique Contestants to play as, from the suave Bounty Hunter and the highly mobile Skyfire. The new trailer focuses on Knives and Banshee specifically, the former being a melee assassin who can go invisible and create portals, and the latter is a heavy-metal singer and a crack shot with a bow.
Last Flag also promises quick and chaotic matches across its vibrant maps, which also feature power-ups and apparently some secrets too. It also made it into the top 50 most-played demos in the recent Steam Next Fest.
Last Flag will be launching on Steam and the Epic Games Store this April, so it's worth getting on your Steam Wishlist now if you're interested. Xbox and PlayStation players will have to wait a bit longer as the developers are aiming to release a console version this summer, so why not follow them on Twitter if you want to keep up with console news.
