Hell Let Loose Vietnam "isn't just about the new theatre of war", creative director says, "we're introducing a bunch of new mechanics that really push the boundaries"
Fly planes, drive boats, and so much more

Hell Let Loose Vietnam isn't just about giving the hardcore WW2 FPS some new scenery, developer Expression Games says it's here to "really push the boundaries" of what's on offer.
As part of the Future Games Show at Gamescom, we got our first look at Hell Let Loose Vietnam. Aside from some new set dressing, it's very much the FPS as you know it. Big battles that see 50 dedicated players take on another 50 for supremacy. Giant skirmishes under the sunlight, stealthier work done under the dead of night, you name it.
While you'll have to wait until next year to play it, though, Expression Games creative director Matt White teases there's plenty to come that not only impacts how Hell Let Loose looks, but how it plays.
"This isn't just about the new theatre of war, we're introducing a bunch of new mechanics that really push the boundaries of our 50v50 battles that Hell Let Loose is known for," he says.
In a first for the game, you'll get to pilot helicopters, drive boats, and build and create tunnels. Naturally, there'll be more weapons, too, like mortars and napalm aerial strikes.
"This marks the beginning of an exciting new front for Hell Let Loose," White teases.
White also says that, while you'll have to wait until next year to play this one, the team is planning to drop another trailer in the coming months, so expect plenty more teases then.
Hell Let Loose Vietnam launches 2026.

I joined GamesRadar+ in May 2022 following stints at PCGamesN and PocketGamer.Biz, with some freelance for Kotaku UK, RockPaperShotgun, and VG24/7 thrown in for good measure. When I'm not running the news team on the games side, you'll find me putting News Editor duties to one side to play the hottest JRPG of 20 years ago or pillaging the depths of Final Fantasy 14 for a swanky new cloak – the more colourful, the better.
