The PlayStation State of Play on June 2 was a fantastic showcase of a lot of excellent upcoming PS5 games. Sony ran for well over an hour, starting strong with a new Marvel's Wolverine gameplay showcase and wrapping with a long first look at God of War Laufey. There were like at least 20 other trailers between those two events, so what's actually worth your time?
Honestly, it was kind of tough picking just five of the best trailers from State of Play. But that's what I've done, and I'm pretty happy with my choices. These are the ones that are still replaying in my head now that I've had a second to breathe from all of the excitement. If you disagree with me, and think there's a better trailer from the PS5 showcase out there, then do be sure to sign up to GamesRadar+ (not only is it free, it's how you're able to get into the comments section below to tell me how right wrong I am).
Trailer: Until Dawn 2
There were over 20 trailers in the PlayStation State of Play showcase, but this was the one that caught me by surprise. Over a decade since the release of Until Dawn, a sequel is in development from Firesprite (rather than Supermassive). This excellent reveal trailer does a fantastic job of setting up the premise (a group of ghosthunters visit a tropical island), the horror (a slasher killer arrives to spoil the fun), and the choice/consequence that hangs over it all (RIP Luke).
Trailer: Stuntman Hollywood
It's been almost 20 years since Stuntman: Ignition, and the beloved action-adventure racing series has long been considered MIA. Until now that is, with Saber Interactive bringing the franchise back with a bang. I thought this was a fantastic reveal trailer, doing just enough to tease out a few possibilities before pulling the curtain back to reveal that we'll be handling the stunt-work for sequences inspired by real movies and TV shows. A super fun presentation, so kudos to Saber for Stuntman: Hollywood.
Trailer: Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis
Listen, it's never fun when a publisher announces that it is delaying something that you're really looking forward to playing. But you know what certainly helps ease the pain? A really great trailer that helps you understand why the wait will be worth it in the end. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis has been pushed to February 12, 2027, but it's looking increasingly fantastic – a compelling remake of a legendary adventure game that was in desperate need of some TLC.
Trailer: Kemuri Hunt the Unseen
It's been a while since Ikumi Nakamura left Tango Gameworks, and even longer since the internet fell in love with the artist. And during that time I've been wondering when her next title, the debut project from Unseen Games, would finally show itself to the world. Well Kemuri is finally here and it landed with a splash thanks to this gameplay reveal trailer, which does a fantastic job of setting the stage for this vibrant three-player action yokai hunting game.
Trailer: Bancho the Chef
I promised myself that I was going to limit this roundup to the 5 best State of Play trailers, otherwise I'd be here gushing about all 20 of them. And while I was really very impressed with the presentations from Remedy for Control Resonant and Konami's Silent Hill: Townfall, I have to hand it to Dave the Diver developer Mintrocket – the Bancho the Chef reveal was a whole lot of fun, and suitably silly for a prequel delving into the origins sushi master Bancho.

Gameplay Showcase: God Of War Laufey
When does a trailer stop being a trailer and become something else entirely? Probably when it creeps above the 10 minute mark. The thing is, the reveal for God of War: Laufey is pretty electrifying. A new mainline God of War game, one starring Faye rather than Kratos, has been long rumored – but to finally see it in action, and for it to look so damned weird and wonderful, really is worth celebrating. So no, this isn't a trailer, but it is the best gameplay showcase from the PlayStation State of Play for June 2026 (sorry, Marvel's Wolverine; that gameplay showcase was a whole lot of fun, but new God of War gets my vote this time.)
