When new EverQuest content is in the works, Sony Online Entertainment often invites members from the games media to attend virtual tours. After logging into pre-made accounts, the press gets the chance to do some in-game sightseeing with first-hand looks at new zones and features planned for upcoming updates and expansions before they set off to write their previews.

Today, GamesRadar is very excited to be able to share some exclusive footage from SOE’s most recent virtual tour for the upcoming Age of Discovery expansion for EverQuest II. It’s a first for this site and we think this video is worth more than a thousand word preview for EQ players. So sit back, relax, and join associate producer Emily Taylor for a personal tour through the Age of Discovery beta. You’ll see the new beastlord class, changes to the city of Freeport, and details on the new mercenaries system. You’ll also get a detailed look at the new Dungeon Maker feature, which lets players craft and design their very own dungeons for other adventurers!
