Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has officially wrapped filming with blue blur speed, and it's apparently the best movie in the game-to-film franchise so far.
Returning series director Jeff Fowler yesterday tweeted a picture of himself in the director's chair, grinning alongside a menacing Metal Sonic that does not want to be there. "And that's a wrap on SonicMovie4," he writes in the post down below. "On behalf of this amazing cast/crew, we have filmed the BEST Sonic Movie yet and can't wait to share."

Filming began back in March, a short two months ago, when we got our first look at Amy Rose's iconic hammer. Both Metal Sonic and Amy Rose {Kristen Bell) are set to play major parts in the upcoming movie after they were teased in mid-credits scenes at the end of Sonic 3.
Metal Sonic was first introduced as a recurring antagonist in 1993's Sonic the Hedgehog CD - where he also kidnaps Amy Rose - created by big bad Dr. Eggman as a cutting-edge machine capable of rivalling his nemesis' iconic speed.
The sequel's first teaser already gave us a look at Jim Carrey's return to the role of Dr. Eggman, despite the character's death at the end of Sonic 3, so everything's in place for the movie to follow Metal Sonic's origin story, at least loosely.
Paramount has yet to release an official synopsis for the fourquel, but Sonic 3 passed the baton on pretty neatly for Sonic 4 to go zooming. Not only did Team Sonic remain victorious, a post-credits scene teased that Shadow is alive and well, actually, so expect the whole gang to be here (minus, I don't know, Silver?)
Sonic 4 races to theatres on March 19, 2027.
