Crunchyroll boss confirms Demon Slayer Infinity Castle 2 is "actively in production" and they are "eagerly waiting to be able to share with the world when the next movie is coming"
Exclusive: Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini offers promising Demon Slayer Infinity Castle 2 update – but the wait goes on
Despite breaking countless records at the box office, we've heard precious little on Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle 2.
Crunchyroll CEO and president Rahul Purini is acutely aware of the ongoing radio silence surrounding the follow-up to the highest-grossing anime movie of all time, and shares our excitement on unveiling the next chapter in Tanjiro's endgame in his most recent update.
"We are eagerly waiting to be able to share with the world, with our fans, on when the next movie is coming," Purini tells GamesRadar+.
"What we can say – and what we have said – is that this is a trilogy of movies that will be the final arc for Demon Slayer. Infinity Castle was the first one. There's two more to go."
Purini continues, "We can tell you that it is actively in production. The studio wants to bring it to fans as quickly as possible. We just don't have a date yet."
Previously, Purini told The Hollywood Reporter in September 2025, "There's definitely urgency for all of us to bring more Demon Slayer to fans as soon as we can – because we know the urgency is there among the fanbase."
With a trilogy planned as the adaptation of the manga's final arc, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle flew out the blocks with a staggered worldwide release, eventually grossing $781 million, surpassing the likes of Thunderbolts and Superman.

Story details for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle's sequel remain thin on the ground, but a cursory glance towards the pages of Koyoharu Gotouge's manga offers a roadmap. A second movie should bump up to the end of the Infinity Castle arc as Tanjiro and the group of Hashira close in on Muzan Kibutsuji and his legion of Upper Rank demons.
