Doom 2016's first level rebuilt in Doom 2 is the retro de-make you need

Yo dawg, I heard you like Doom. That's why the Doom For Doom (D4D) mod team put some Doom in your Doom, so you can Doom while you Doom! Yeah yeah, it's an older meme, but when a team of modders creates the tutorial level from Doom 2016 in Doom 2, I think it applies.

You might remember D4D from back in May, when the team showed off how they had converted Doom 2016's armory into old-school weapons. It appears progress is coming along nicely - or at least, as nicely as anything about eviscerating the legions of Hell can be.
