Following Carrie Fisher's tragic death there's been talk around her role in the remaining Star Wars films. Now, it appears that Disney is already having what must be a very difficult discussion with the actress' estate.
In an episode of BBC's Newsnight (watchable only in the UK at around the 30 min mark) Kirsty Wark says the following:
"Carrie Fisher died less than a fortnight ago but in the mind of Disney movie moguls and Star Wars fans she’s very much alive, and, with what might be regarded as unseemly haste, Disney’s negotiating with the actress’ estate over her continued appearance in the franchise. If Disney get the go ahead Carrie Fisher will join Peter Cushing who, last month, 15 years after his death, played a key role in Rogue One as Grand Moff Tarkin."
