Destiny's weekend vendor, Xur, has returned to the Tower to sell his various weapons, armour pieces, and shards. You'll find him in the Tower, by the Crucible vendors. Bungie rolled out the Destiny 2.0 update this week, so many were expecting a big showing from the mysterious merchant. Could we see the arrival of a new Exotic gun? Maybe a fancy Exotic helmet? Well, notsomuch... Xur's headline item this week is No Land Beyond, considered by some to be the worst Exotic in the game. Or is it? Here's a breakdown of all the stuff you can buy with your Strange Coins and Motes of Light.
- No Land Beyond (Exotic Primary Sniper Rifle) - 23 Strange Coins
- Helm of Inmost Light (Exotic Titan Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
- Apotheosis Veil (Exotic Warlock Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
- Celestial Nighthawk (Exotic Hunter Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
- Exotic Chest Engram - 23 Motes of Light
- Exotic Shard - 7 Strange Coins
Should you pick up this week's Exotics? Buyer beware - although No Land Beyond can be a handy tool in Crucible, thanks to its buff to your agility and lightning fast reloads, it's largely useless in PvE. And there's currently no Year 2 version of the weapon, so it's a bit of a dead-end right now. The armour is better value. Helm of Inmost Light gives Striker Titans some handy buffs to Fist of Havoc, making them a little more unstoppable, so it's great value for PvP players. Celestial Nighthawk is more handy for Hunters looking to tackle tougher Raids and Strikes, thanks to the damage boost it gives Golden Gun. Finally, Apotheosis Veil (which seems to be on sale every damn week) is handy for Warlocks taking on tough PvE events too, thanks to the health benefits it brings. It's probably the best of this week's items, which are all far from best-in-class. My advice? Save you coins, everyone, for next week's Xur sale.
Don't forget - The Taken King launches on Tuesday, so expect to be surrounded by delicious new weapons and armour that'll make you drool like a dog in a chum factory. Sadly, you won't be able to equip these fresh Exotics until you're level 40, but getting there in a week won't be a big problem, right?
