Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location March 4-6. Hawkmoon!

Destiny's weekend merchant, Xur, is back in the Tower. Having recovered from his recent operation to remove a bunion from one of his smoke-tentacles, this week he's hanging around opposite The Speaker, so pop over and trade your Strange Coins for his lethal goodies. What does he have? Well, there are some neat bits of gear to pick up, and one weapon that you absolutely shouldn't be without.

  • Mk.44 Stand Asides (Exotic Titan Leg Armour) - 13 Strange Coins
  • Graviton Forfeit (Exotic Hunter Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
  • Nothing Manacles (Exotic Warlock Gauntlets) - 13 Strange Coins
  • Hawkmoon (Exotic Hand Cannon) – 23 Strange Coins
  • Legacy Primary Weapon Engram - 31 Strange Coins
  • Three of Coins - 5 Strange Coins
  • Glass Needles - 3 Strange Coins

It's Hawkmoon! This is the third time Xur has been peddling the rangey Hand Cannon (presumably he made some kind of stock ordering error last year and needs to shift them to clear out space in his warehouse / coat). Just buy it. Hawkmoon is, arguably, the Prince of pistols thanks to its long range, decent accuracy, and high impact. While the Year 2 version isn't quite as all-powerful as the original, it's a very handy weapon to have in Crucible.

And the rest of the gear? It's all fairly unusual Exotics, but nothing truly killer. The Mk.44 Stand Asides are handy for Titans who use shoulder charge, as it increases the duration, but there are many better pieces of Titan gear out there. Of more use is Graviton Forfeit, which grants the Shade-Step ability for Hunters. This means you can take this evasive perk for free, and set-up your Nightstalker with another powerful class ability. Pretty handy. Finally, the Nothing Manacles... These grant you an extra Scatter Grenade and enables tracking for them - hardly something to get excited about. This is one for folks who absolutely want to fill all those slots on the Exotic Armour blueprint board.

This week's Legacy Engram is a Primary, so it's well worth buying if you're flush with Strange Coins - you've got a decent chance of picking up an Exotic weapon that you don't already have, as there are more Primaries than anything else. Mind you, last time I bought one was when Xur was last selling Hawkmoon and I got... Hawkmoon. Sad face. Don't forget that Three of Coins costs five Strange Coins and Glass Needles will set you back three. Confusing, I know.

Xur is around until 10am UK time / 2am Pacific on Sunday, and then he's gone. Don't worry if you miss him - I reckon he's got shed-loads of Hawkmoons still to sell.
