Two returning telefantasy shows bolstered their respective channels’ ratings spectacularly when they livened up the airwaves on Sunday night.

Being Human was back on BBC 3 for its fourth series, with the first episode drawing on just under 1.2 million (889,000 viewers on BBC 3 and a further 227,000 on BBC HD). That’s slightly down on the season three opener (1.37) but DON’T PANIC! It was still up 89% on BBC 3’s slot average for that time slot the past three months, so the Beeb is going to be mighty happy with that performance.

Meanwhile, over on FX True Blood season four kicked off on Sunday night with 249,000, which may not sound much, but that’s a massive 1,200% increase on the number of viewers FX had been averaging in the same time slot over the past few months.
