The BAFTA TV awards 2020 nominations have been announced, with the HBO and Sky Atlantic miniseries Chernobyl leading the way. The series, which tells of the tragic events leading to the 1986 disaster at the Chernobyl's nuclear power plant, picked up 14 nominations, including best miniseries and best lead actor for Jared Harris. 

Last year, Killing Eve became the first-ever series to reach that number of nominations. The thriller series from Phoebe Waller-Bridge was not as successful this time around, with Jodie Comer landing Killing Eve's single nomination in 2020.

The Crown came in second, behind Chernobyl, with seven nominations, closely followed by both Fleabag and the crime series Giri / Haji. Other notable shows include The End of the F***ing World, Succession, The Virtues, and When They See Us. See the full list of BAFTA TV awards 2020 nominations below.
