Two Marvel films get 2014 releases

Disney has pencilled in a number of upcoming release dates, including two Marvel films set to open summer 2014.

However, Disney has been tight-lipped over which Marvel characters will be filling those two slots.

The first untitled movie will hit cinemas on 16 May 2014, while the second Marvel movie will open on 27 June 2014.

Given that Iron Man 3 (3 May 2013) and Thor 2 (26 July 2013) already have US release dates set in place, it's highly likely one of the new slots will be filled by the sequel to Captain America .

That leaves the recently mooted Doctor Strange as the most probable character to fill the other gap.

Other film dates announced by Disney include The Odd Life Of Timothy Green on 15 August 2012, an untitled project from Coraline 's Henry Selick on 4 October 2013 and an untitled Disney/Pixar title on 30 May 2014.
