The Fold review

So, whose fold is this?

The hot topic of immigration is mishandled in this British low-budgeter, which centres on an Anglican priest (Catherine McCormack) who comes to regret taking a Bulgarian waif (Marina Stoimenova) under her cassock.

That’s bad news for the priest’s daughter (Dakota Blue Richards), not to mention non- Daily Mail readers who hoped for something a touch more nuanced.

John Jencks’ drama boasts some nice Cornish scenery, but it’s not enough to offset the clunky dialogue, overwrought performances and Richards’ inability to convince us she’s a violin-playing prodigy.
