There’s probably a great movie waiting to be made about the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague investigating war atrocities in the former Yugoslavia.

Hans-Christian Schmid’s new thriller isn’t really it, but it’ll do until a better one comes along.

Kerry Fox plays a dogged prosecutor whose attempts to nail a Karadzic-like Serb hit a road-block when her key witness admits he lied under oath. Luckily she has a back-up in Bosnian émigré Anamaria Marinca, though whether her evidence will be heard may be a moot point.

Well acted if somewhat stodgy, this bleak drama argues justice isn’t only blind, but also pretty dumb.
