Sleeping Dogs developer announces followup Triad Wars

The bureaucratically corrupt but martial artistically strong world of Sleeping Dogs will return in Triad Wars. UFG officially confirmed its next project after fans spotted a trademark for the name.

A post on the developer's site refused to say anything more about the project aside from "it's another game based in the Sleeping Dogs universe, it's something we've wanted to do for ages, and we're very happy to be working with Square Enix again."

It's good news for fans who may have worried about Wei Shen and company's fate after their debut failed to meet Square Enix's sales expectations, along with Tomb Raider and Hitman: Absolution. It even had a strange start when it metamorphosed from the canceled True Crime: Hong Kong.

We'll hear more about the game in 2014, UFG said. Other than Sleeping Dogs, the studio's previous titles are LittleBigPlanet Karting and ModNation Racers.
