Sony will do some maths next week when it adds PlayStation Plus services to PS Vita. The company today announced PlayStation Plus will be available on the handheld system starting on November 19 in North America and November 21 in the U.K. and Australia.
Update 2.00 for PS Vita will bring Plus support, as well as a new email client, web browser enhancements, and improved wireless data transfer between PlayStation 3 and PC. The most exciting news is, of course, the handheld's very own Instant Game Collection, which will offer a revolving lineup of free games just like its homebound older sibling.
Both U.S. and U.K./Australian users will find Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, and Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack in the collection's first round. U.S. subscribers can also download Wipeout 2048, Jet Set Radio HD, and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (the PlayStation Portable update of the original PlayStation classic). Those in the U.K. and Australia will be granted free access to Chronovolt, a new sphere-guiding puzzle platformer.
Subscribers will be granted the usual automatic updates, gigabyte of cloud storage for saved PS Vita games, and Trophy syncing. The $50 year or $18 three-month-long subscriptions cover both PS3 and PS Vita.
