Known for their colorful, quirky, and hilarious Japanese role-playing games, NIS America is adding a few more titles to their North American and European lineup, which are due out later this year and early next. At a press event in San Francisco yesterday, the publisher revealed three new games including Legasista, Mugen Souls, and The Witch and the Hundred Knights.
Legasista is a top-down dungeon crawler where players customize a team of three to take on the dungeons of the Ivy Tower. Players can import their own images and the game will convert them into playable characters. Everything is customizable, including equipment, job classes, and weapons. Available only on the PS3 via the PlayStation Network, Legasista is set to come up in August. Check out the trailer above for more details.
Mugen Souls is another PS3 exclusive that features customization, but this time it’s more focused on body parts and facial expressions of really cute girls...and job classes. The story centers around the goddess Chou-Chou, who wakes up one day and decides to take over the seven worlds because they "look pretty." Not only can she enslave enemies as she attempts to take over each world, but she also has seven different personalities. The game is described as having a "free-roaming battle map" and turn-based combat. This hilarious, over-the-top JRPG is set to be released later this fall, but see it in action from the trailer below.
The last game on the list is The Witch and the Hundred Knights, a vibrant 3D action-RPG featuring Disgaea artist Takehito Harada, where players have the choice to save the innocent or take part in the pillaging. Developed by Nippon Ichi Software, it's a departure from the Disgaea games and what the developer is used to. Moving away from grid-based strategy, The Witch and the Hundred Knights is an action-RPG with free roaming environments and players will command a team of 99 knights. The Witch and the Hundred Knights is set to be released in early 2013.
