Cast: Megan Fox, Will Arnett

Genre: Superhero Action Comedy

Plot: Hollywood tackles another beloved children's classic from the 80s and 90s, with a movie that aims to bring the 'Heroes in a Half-Shell' to the big screen. The story, which follows the heroic exploits of four ninja-skilled genetically pimped turtles who are trained by an equally as genetically pimped rat sensei. They fight crime, eat pizza and hang around with intrepid roving reporter April O'Neill (Fox). Although quite how they'll manage to outdo the previous movie's Vanilla Ice cameo is beyond us.

The Maze Runner

Director: Wes Ball

Cast: Will Poulter, Dylan O'Brien, Thomas Brodie-Sangster

Genre: Sci-fi thriller

Plot: Looking for more teenage dystopian kicks in the wake of The Hunger Games ? Look no further than The Maze Runner . Set it in a post-apocalyptic future world, it sees Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) dumped in an all-boys facility after he’s had his memory wiped, only to discover that the facility is actually a maze. Cue an escape plan as desperate and mind-boggling as the one in The Shawshank Redemption . Probably.

UK Release Date: 24 October 2014

US Release Date: 19 September 2014

Paranormal Activity 5

Director: TBC

Cast: TBC

Genre: Ghost Horror

Plot: The hauntings continue in a fifth outing for everyone's favourite pestering poltergeist. Expect more static CCTV scares, and more tangential family connections to Katie the possessed mentalist.

UK Release Date: October 2014

US Release Date: 24 October 2014

Peanuts

Director: Steve Martino

Cast: TBC

Genre: CGI animated comedy

Plot: No word on the plot just yet, but a whole lot of anticipation for the return of our favourite animated pooch. With the film's release set to coincide with the comic strip’s 65th anniversary, the teaser trailer shows Snoopy, Charlie Brown and cheeky-beaked Woodstock in 3D finery. Written by Craig and Brian Schulz (sons of comic-strip creator Charles), Peanuts should keep the fun spirit of the original characters alive.

UK Release Date: 16 October 2015

US Release Date: 6 November 2015

Big Hero 6

Director: Don Hall, Chris Williams

Cast: TBC

Genre: Superhero Animation

Plot: Marvel's first big-screen animation is certainly an interesting one - shunning their bigger comic icons for a lesser-known superteam set in a fictional mash-up of San Francisco and Tokyo (known, charmingly, as San Fransokyo). When brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada finds himself on the wrong side of the law, he teams up with best friend and robot Baymax and a reluctant team of newbie crime-fighters to save the day.

UK Release Date: TBC

US Release Date: 7 November 2014

Interstellar

Director: Christopher Nolan

Cast: Anne Hathaway, Matthew McConaughey

Genre: Sci-Fi Thriller

Plot: AKA 'What Christopher Nolan did next', this original sci-fi thriller is Nolan's first project since leaving the Bat franchise, and you can bet it'll be as intelligent, action-packed and skilled as anything else he's ever made. The story focuses on an exploration of physicist Kip Thorne's theories of gravity fields, wormholes and a bunch of other astrophysical science stuff theorised by Albert Einstein.

The Secret Service

Director: Matthew Vaughn

Cast: Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson

Genre: Comic Book Actioner

Plot: Another Mark Millar comic adaptation (see also: Kick-Ass, Wanted etc etc), and this time it's another twist on your traditional genre trope, as the plot follows a veteran secret agent who takes on a young protege and gradually exposes him to the tricks of the spy trade.

UK Release Date: 2014

US Release Date: 14 November 2014

Untitled Brad Pitt Project

Director: David Ayer

Cast:
Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal

Genre: WW2 Action

Plot: There's more than a little hint of Inglourious Basterds about this World War 2 behind enemy lines special forces actioner. Not least because Brad Pitt is taking the lead as a Sergeant (known as Wardaddy) leading a team of soldiers on a deadly mission into the heart of the enemy. Formely known as Fury .

Poltergeist (2014)

Director: Gil Kenan

Cast: Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris

Genre: Horror

Plot: What could be just yet another horror remake has been made infinitely more interesting by the cast attached. While plot details are still loose, we do know that DeWitt and Rockewll will play the Bowens, a married couple who find themselves forced by the recession to downsize into a creaky home out in the suburbs. Except little do they know it already has some decidedly supernatural occupants.
