Despite initial reports that she would not be returning for a second outing, it sounds as though Hayley Atwell will be filming a cameo role for Captain America: The Winter Soldier .
That's according to Stanley Tucci, who appeared with Atwell in the first film, and who spilled the beans when being asked whether he himself would be returning.
"No, they haven’t [ asked ], unfortunately," revealed Tucci. "I’m really sad. I know that Hayley is going back to do a flashback scene, but I have not been asked."
Seeing as the majority of the film will take place in the present day that Cap found himself transported to at the end of the first film, a flashback appearance would make sense. in Atwell's absence, Emily VanCamp has been cast as the female lead, potentially as Peggy Carter's niece, Sharon.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and co-starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, Captain America: The Winter Soldier will open in the UK on 4 April 2014.
