Here's who Nathan Fillion is playing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

WARNING: This article contains minor spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

It's no secret that James Gunn likes to work with Nathan Fillion; the director and star have previously collaborated on Slither and Super, and although you may not have spotted him Fillion even had a small cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy (he's the the blue dude who runs afoul of Rocket and Groot in the prison). It looks like the Castle actor will be back for Guardians 2, and this time he won't be covered in makeup.

Some unofficial set pics from an eagle-eyed fan (via ComicBook.com) has revealed several fake movie posters outside a theatre which indicate that Fillion is playing Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man. For those unfamiliar, Williams is a stuntman and well-known actor in the comics who eventually becomes an Avenger.

As fun as it would be to see Fillion fighting alongside Iron Man and other heroes in Avengers: Infinity War that's probably not in the cards for the Wonder Man of Marvel's Cinematic Universe, so hopefully Gunn has figured out a fun way to utilise the actor's considerable talents. On another note, these pics also makes it look like the Guardians might be spending some time on Earth - could Star-Lord be heading home in the sequel?

Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Kurt Russell, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit UK cinemas on April 28, 2017 and open in US theatres on May 5, 2017.
