Duke Nukem Forever Achievements and Trophies Guide

It took one hell of a long time for Duke Nukem Forever to finally come home and now that it has, it brought along with it a mixture of tricky and the usual achievements and trophies. Duke Nukem Forever may not have been the greatest game released this year, month, or even week for that matter, but if you picked it up, you may as well get your money’s worth by taking it for all it has to offer.

Below we have posted up some videos for the more complicated and time consuming achievements/trophies and lists for the few where collecting and finding a numerous amount of items is necessary. With the list we’ve compiled, getting a full thousand points or the Platinum Trophy should be a snap and will hopefully help take a little bit of the sting out of your gameplay experience.

A Good Dam Fight

25 Points
Silver Trophy
Defeat the Battlelord on the Hoover Dam

This achievement is story related and impossible to miss. You will get it at the end of Dam Top when you face off against the Battlelord on the stretch of road there. Use the trucks and cars for cover and be sure to stick near an ammo crate to keep your rocket launcher rocketing.

Air-Duke

30 Points
Silver Trophy
Win air hockey with a score of 7-0 in the strip club

In the strip club you will need to win a game of air hockey to get an ego award, but for the achievement/trophy, you will need to come up with a shutout. This may take a few tries as the controls for the game are absolutely horrendous, but as long as you take your time and cover you goal well, you’ll nail it in no time.

Annihilation

40 Points
Bronze Trophy
Kill 100 aliens

You will easily get this throughout the course of the game.

Balls of Steel

25 Points
Silver Trophy
Earn a 1,000,000 pinball score in SP

Another mini-game that you can play in either Duke’s workout room during The Duke Cave or in the Strip Bar. To get a million points, it will take some finagling and cheating since this pinball table is about as amazing to control as the air hockey table. The idea is to light up the three lights at the top of the table so that the 2X multiplier comes on in the center of the board, near the flippers. Once it is lit, get the ball to the top left flipper and continually hit the three tiles along the left wall. When you ball goes along the side, if it goes too far to the right, hit the left stick to nudge the table and the ball will come back to the left and onto the flipper. Don’t flick it too many times in a row or else you’ll tilt the table. Keep cheesing it until you reach a million points and then you’ll never have to touch this crappy pinball machine again.

Baron von Nukem

20 Points
Bronze Trophy
Shoot down 20 alien fighters

There are two excellent places that you can grab this and most likely you will need to use both turret sequences to do so. During The Mothership Battle sequence near the start of the game, you will rack up many fighters as they continually come towards you.Likewise with the level Crash Course, you will have plenty of opportunities to bring down another swarm of fighters.

Beating the One-Eyed Worm

35 Points
Silver Trophy
Defeat the Energy Leech

This is story related and impossible to miss. You will get this at the end of Blowin’ the Dam when you are swimming under water.

Big Guns, Big Ships

10 Points
Bronze Trophy
Blow up 5 enemy gunships or dropships

During many of the turret sequences, drop ships will swoop in to drop off more aliens into the battle. The turret will wipe out the ships easily and after destroying only 5 of them, this will be all yours.
