Dark Souls 3 gets new gameplay, release date & special editions

Dark Souls 3's special editions are official, and the lineup is a little bit different from the one that leaked back in November. It looks like you'll be able to get the game in one of three special ways when it comes out on April 12 if you live in the UK, or one of two if you're in North America.

First off, the Apocalypse Edition will be available as a bonus for pre-ordering the game (it's available exclusively at GAME in the UK). On top of a standard copy of Dark Souls 3, you'll get a special metal case and the game's soundtrack on CD. The Collector's Edition, which will be available at "select" retailers for an unannounced price, will include all that plus a Red Knight figurine, a hardcover artbook, three iron-on patches, a cloth game map, and an "exclusive box."

The Prestige Edition has all the same contents of the Collector's Edition as well as a 40cm Lord of Cinder resin figurine, which you are encouraged to make fight and/or kiss with the Red Knight figurine. Unfortunately, it's only set to be sold at Amazon UK for now - no North American availability has been announced for the Prestige Edition as of yet.

Dark Souls 3 also got two new videos on Friday, one from Bandai Namco with all kinds of cinematic music and slow-motion CGI, and one from FromSoftware with lots of rolling around and backstabbing. I have a feeling I know which one most Souls fans will prefer, but here they both are just in case.
