With A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas about to hit shops, we sat down to chat all things festive with star Danny Trejo.

But it didn't take long for us to get onto the subject of another of his upcoming projects, Machete Kills .

We discussed Machete Kills ' awesome cast, the character, and what it's like to sword-fight with Mel Gibson, and you can see the results below:

You've finished shooting Machete Kills , how did you enjoy returning to the character?

"[ Laughs ] I never really left that character."

Is that because you're that kind of guy in real life?

"I'm a guy who likes to right wrongs, if there's something wrong I'll try to make it right."

Who did you enjoy working with most of the new actors?

"All of them are great. Amber Heard isn't bad to work with, and neither is Sofia Vergara, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Vanessa Hudgens... [ laughs ]."

And what's so special about those people in particular?

"They're all so beautiful, you're working with beautiful people and they're all so nice."

And what about Mel Gibson, how was he?

"Unbelievable professional. He brings everything to the table.

"I have a sword fight with him in Machete Kills , and when they called action I threw my sword down and said 'Are you kidding? I'm not fighting William Wallace, that's crazy!'"

Machete Kills will open in 2013.
