Circle of Mana sort-of revealed by Square-Enix. More likely to be about magic than geometry

Square-Enix is set to kickstart the Mana/Seiken Densetsu series back into some form of life, according to a new trademark just registered. The new game title registration marks the first new Mana game in five years, following 2007's strategy role-player Heroes of Mana.

Exactly what form is it going to take? Right now, there are no details besides the title, Circle of Mana. Given the series' hit-and-miss quality following the (officially) Japan-only Seiken Densetsu 3, it's understandable that fans would be hoping for a high-profile return to the form of the first few home console games in the series, though given Square-Enix's recent proliferation of mobile games and ports (the Mana series has already had two of those, in the form of 2006's Friends of Mana and 2010's iOS port of Secret of Mana), so it's entirely possible that the new game will take a more portable route.

More news of course, as it appears following the game's inevitable official announcement.
