It may have left Guitar Hero and True Crime to bleed out by the side of the road, but Activision has announced that it will be throwing its support behind new Spider-Man and Family Guy titles sometime in 2011. Sure, it's a small consolation in light of recent events, but at least it's good news for guys named Peter...
The new games were confirmed today by Activision Publishing's head, Eric Hirshberg, who added that the company would also be releasing a pair of movie tie ins – Transformers 3 and X-Men: First Class – and a new addition to the Cabela Hunting series.
According to Hirshberg, “These are all strong franchises with passionate niche audiences that can achieve repeatable and profitable success.”
As announced earlier this year, development duties for the new Spiderman game will fall to Beenox studios. No developer has yet been attached to Family Guy.
