Children of Men
The gist
In 2027, everyone’s infertile, which gives the human race, oh, about a century to live. To make matters worse, the youngest person on the planet just bought the farm and humanity is relying on Clive Owen to escort the world’s only pregnant woman to safety. Never mind the crushing social despair and terrorism subplots; this is one beautifully filmed sci-fi flick with gritty long shots of Britain’s environments and truly astounding long takes (up to five minutes with no cuts).
HD owners were treated with an amazing level of detail in their video transfer and lossless Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. One can only wonder how awesome the Blu-ray disc will be.
