San Francisco Meets Skynet

San Francisco Meets Skynet

Created by ILM’s Christian Alzmann and visual effects art director Warren Fu, these are some awesome peeks at things that will – and might – appear in Terminator Salvation .

Looks like San Fran is one of the main hubs for tech nightmare Skynet. The Star Trek trailer images caused many SF fans to have fits about the buildings. We imagine they're working on YouTube videos right now to protest that “there’s clearly no Skynet building in the city.”

Industrial Revolution

Industrial Revolution

Here we see another one of the cities Skynet has built up to help create the metal warriors it needs to fight the humans.

Transporter Time

Transporter Time

No, not a concept of how Jason Statham will look in the next film (unless Michael Bay is directing it, of course), but a good look at one of the transport units Skynet is using to pluck humans from the ground for processing.

And here’s a beauty shot of one of the transporters hovering over New Mexico.

Rear-Ending

Rear-Ending

The same machine, but presenting its arse to camera like a drunken partygoer.

Like we saw in one of the earlier shots, this vehicle can open up to snatch humans.

What looks like one of the Terminator franchise's mainstays - the Hunter Killer.

Break In!

A human hacker attempting to break in to one of Skynet's terminals with what looks like an old NES games system.

Farwell To Arms

Farwell To Arms

Development images for one hand of the Harvester (see the next pic for a full on shot) - the giant, lumbering machine that also carries humans off for testing. We hope this becomes a toy like the Hulk Hands...

Welcome To Harvester

Welcome To Harvester

And, as promised, the big lad himself, with a human either caught in his searchlight or doing an impromptu tap routine.

Weirdly, the human-nabbing arms appear to be attached under the machine’s main arms. Skynet design flaw!

Hells Angel

Hells Angel

The Moto-Terminator which – SPOILER ALERT! – can be launched from the Harvester.

It has different attack and speed positions and is also massively manoeverable. And those raised cannons can also give the finger as it speeds past police cars.

Well, burnt out police cars containing the charred bodies of their drivers. But the sentiment’s the same.

Thanks to The Sarah Connor Society for the pics.
