Surfer Girl says that The Godfather II will feature a deep online component somewhat akin to Grand Theft Auto IV. According to her, up until sometime last year, Mass Media was working on ports of Saint's Row and The Outfit, for Wii and PSP, respectively. She states that L.A. Dominic Anderson, a college kid in England, got high with some of his friends and played a little Saints Row. Seems friendly enough, right? Well, his stash must've been tainted because next thing you know, Anderson is slitting his wrists and trying to stab himself in the chest with a 12" kitchen knife.
At about 11pm local time, Anderson stormed out of his apartment and into the streets. His crazed and bloodied antics included trying to rip people out of their cars, and even hopping onto the hoods of moving cars as he attempted to stab those inside the vehicles through the windshields.

A sequel to Saint's Row, the gangland actioner that hit Xbox 360 last year, has been announced for both 360 and PlayStation 3 today by publisher THQ, set to launch in 2008. But the 360-to-PS3 port of the original game has been cancelled, with all of developer Volition's efforts being ploughed into the sequel.

Volition today released a new multiplayer map for Saints Row. For only 80 Microsoft Points, about $1, you'll get a new map called Industrial Mappack. The map can only be used with (Team)Gangster Brawl and (Team) Big Ass Chains. Hopefully there will be some more content available in sometime, not just one map.» Read More

THQ and Volition have released a new auto-update for Saints Row - fixes some multiplayer issues and adds 4xAA and V-Sync.
The new update will download and install when you next load up the game, and according to Volition should fix up all the lag problems players have been experiencing. There are also fixes for several known exploits, including clothes stealing.
If you're someone who has been making use of some of the fixed exploits then you'll be sad to hear that you won't be able to play online again until the update is installed, so you better say goodbye to your days of clothes stealing.
Also with the update comes some new in-game visual enhancements and tweaks. For 480i and 480p modes, the game has been patched to run with 4xAA instead of the usual 2xAA, so you should notice less jagged edges. There's also a new option to enable v-sync in both cutscenes and gameplay. This should eliminate screen tearing, but will have a detrimental affect on the frame rate - it's your choice.
