360 - Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - The Top 7... Winter wonderlands Ah, December! Despite being home to torturous holiday shopping, rampant sickness and some of the most inhospitable living conditions, it’s routinely held up as “the most wonderful time of the year.” Maybe, if you ignore the pounds of snow, record-breaking cold snaps and general anxiety that stems from attempting to exist in a world slathered in ice. ... » Read More

360 - Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - The 10 most common game design mistakes Making games is hard. Making fun of them isn’t. It’s really, really easy, actually. Of course, we wouldn’t be so critical if we didn’t love them so damn much (and if we weren’t, you know, critics). We think games are just the bee’s knees, and that’s why we get so pissed about all the stupid crap they do ... » Read More

In case you missed it, last year we targeted game platforms. So this year we thought we’d change it up and go after a few popular genres. Up first, the ubiquitous shooter. ... » Read More

Legions of exasperated gamers whined that Kratos' escape from the bowels of Hell - complete with rotating columns of bladey cartilage, platforms of bone and two huge towers of spinning blades - was 'stupid', 'cheap' or 'toohardIwantmymummy!' but we loved it. ... » Read More

20th Dec, 2007 Gaming is an up and down experience. Some years cram top quality titles into our every orifice until were bursting with videogame joy and have excess polygons dripping messily out of our ears, while some other years… Well, some other years are 1983. In 2007 though, weve had a very good year indeed. A scarily good year in fact. One which has provided us so much brilliance on every format that its a genuine worry that the laws of karmic balance will soon bring us a plague ... » Read More

360 Feature | Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
Console gamers spent most of their winter bundled up and armed to the teeth, raining heavy weapons down upon endless streams of giant bugs. Their home planet, an icy rock unfit for any living thing, made the perfect battleground both in the game and in reality - winter is the least-forgiving season for most of the country, after all. But now in bright, sunny June, the idea of traversing a snowy plain ravaged by a building-sized worm might actually come as a welcome reprieve from the sweltering ... » Read More

The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Epic quests need epic endings, and theres not much that's more epic than a giant red thing fighting an oversized golden award trophy. The dragon trophy decimates the Vishnu-armed creature by breathing white stuff on it, and the fate of the world is put in your hands. But the games over, so good luck with ... » Read More

The moment you round the first corner, the music will kick up and you're gonna have a flock of soldiers chasing you down. If you keep your distance though, you can probably off at ... » Read More

360 Feature | Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
This being the first level and all, everything's pretty straightforward. Look out for Akrid-generating hives, glowing areas on larger bugs and T-ENG towers that can be shot open for extra energy. There's a Vital Suit right away here, hop in, move ahead and right after the two frozen cars you'll see two energy drums. Behind them is the game's first letter token. Shoot it, get past the hives and use the VS to topple the larger Akrid. Head inside the parking garage for the first data post, ammo up ... » Read More
