Eidos confirms Battlestations: Midway sequel

Eidos is viewing the success of its naval combat game Battlestations: Midway as reason to warrant a sequel, it's emerged. It was also reaffirmed in the report that a Just Cause sequel is in development. Eidos was unavailable for comment on either sequel at the time of writing, however the producer on Battlestations: Midway, Klaude Thomas, did hint at potential content for a follow-up when we talked to him at the end of last year. Eidos has revealed that development on a number of sequels from the firm's biggest franchises is underway.

"Our future next generation console titles include new versions of Tomb Raider, Hitman and Championship Manager plus new IPs including Kane & Lynch and Crossfire," the company said in a financial release.

A nice juicy rumor in this months edition of the Electronic Gaming Monthly; it is said that, after Rare, Microsoft has plans to take over Capcom as well to get more feet on the ground in Japan! It would make sense after Lost Planet and Dead Rising that were both Xbox 360 exclusive.

Avalanche Studio CEO Christofer Sundberg has made clear in an interview with Swedisch Magazine Kong that they are working on a second game of Just Cause. Just Cause has only been released one month ago.

You will still play as Undercover-Agent Rico Rodriquez but you won't be playing in San Espirito anymore. The new location or any other information about the game haven't been given yet. Just Cause will be released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
