Midway announced today that it has shipped Hour of Victory, its Xbox 360 exclusive first-person shooter built on uber-engine Unreal Engine 3.0.

Hour of Victory looks to differientiate itself in the crowded World War II FPS genre by offering several gameplay options, including sneaking as a covert operative, hardcore action as a British Commando, or sniping as an Army Ranger. It also gives players the ability to commandeer any vehicle on the battlefield as they see fit.

Midway has just told Eurogamer.net that Hour of Victory will be released on 22nd June.

"Utilising Epic's Unreal 3 Engine, Hour of Victory has replicated the look and feel of WW2 Europe," a spokesperson from Midway told Eurogamer this afternoon. "Coupled with choice of being able to switch between characters such as a commando, sniper or covert op the game will look to significantly add to the WWII first-person shooter genre."

Midway just announced in a press release that the WWII Xbox 360 exclusive game will be playable for the first time next week. On Wednesday May 30th, Midway will release the singleplayer teaserdemo from Hour of Victory on Xbox Live Marketpalce. The game itself will be release sometime in June, exclusively for Xbox 360.

"Midway's highly anticipated World War II FPS title, Hour of Victory, will be live and playable for the first time next week via Xbox LIVE® Marketplace. Midway will release an exciting single-player teaser demo on Wednesday, May 30, providing a glimpse of the game's cinematic and frenetic gameplay in advance of Hour of Victory's march to retail stores in June.

The Hour of Victory demo will give the player a sneak peak into the rugged North African level. Players will be able to pick any of the three characters in the game, the Covert Operative, specializing in stealth and sabotage; a British Commando specializing in the guns-blazing frontal assault; or an Army Ranger who specializes in sniping and demolitions."
