360 - Halo 3 - Halo 3 Documentary in Development A making of Halo 3 E3 trailer documentary is coming soon, and will feature some never before seen scenes according to Bungie.

Bungie's latest weekly update which mostly contains details on June's Playlist update, also includes an exciting bit of information on a Making of Halo 3 Trailer documentary.

"Some of our sharp-eyed fans may have noticed Marty hinted at an upcoming documentary on Bungie.net," writes Bungie's Frankie. "It was supposed to be a surprise, but since the man himself gave it away, we can in fact reveal that we have a documentary short that shows the process and people involved in making the E3 trailer, complete with some never before seen scenes (think angles, really) from the trailer."

The multiplayer modes of the forthcoming 360 shooter Halo 3 are currently playable and are undergoing daily playtests by developer Bungie. In his weekly update, Bungie representative Frank O'Connor revealed, "Lars, one of the new[er] multiplayer designers, has a regular multiplayer test in session now, which happens every day and with surprisingly polished-looking graphics - although I'm told a lot of the textures and decorator objects are just placeholders at the moment. The Covenant now occupies Earth and, in this third game in the FPS saga, Master Chief returns to the planet to finish the fight. But while this is all the information that's been released about the plot, Halo developer Bungie has recently answered gamers' questions about the ... » Read More

Over 1.5 million people logged onto Xbox Live last week during E3, the gaming industry's largest, most publicized event of the year. Stunning as it was, the teaser trailer didn't reveal much about the third game in the Xbox 360 franchise, simply showing Master Chief standing on top of a mountain while music swelled ... » Read More

Before people could even start foaming at the mouth and overturning cars in excitement after Microsoft's press conference today, the first trailer of Halo 3 emerged on Bungie's website. And now you can see it for yourself. You won't know this by watching, but the scene takes place in the African desert, about a third of the way through the game. In the continuing saga between Halo 3 developer Bungie and Game Informer, tidbits of gossip and internet chatter fly, further shrouding the true nature of one of the most anticipated games ever. It began with an exclusive interview between Bungie and Game Informer in which Halo 3 was reported to carry the title of Forerunner (possibly Halo 3: Forerunner) and to be a prequel to the popular first-person shooter. It would come complete with gigantic environments, four-player co-operative gameplay, ... » Read More

360 News | Halo 3
Friday 31 March 2006 Halo 3 is due for release in March 2007, according to a pair of sources close to Microsoft. Given Bungie's painstaking approach to development, and the tremendous lifespan of pre-release promotion that MS can wring out of the game, a 2006 launch date is looking nigh-on implausible, so this mooted ETA is no surprise. Does it really matter precisely when it may come out in 2007, though? As long as Microsoft has something to reveal at E3 - even if it's simply words, not ... » Read More

Bungie's next game is almost certain to be revealed in 2006, according to Microsoft's Peter Moore. As is typical of both a tight-lipped Microsoft and the secretive Bungie, there's not even confirmation of whether or not it'll be Halo 3. "We haven't made any announcements regarding the Halo franchise," Moore said in an online interview. "So Bungie is busy, they're an industrious bunch, and I think certainly this year, 2006, we might give you a peek at what Bungie is working on." But, reaallly, ... » Read More
