Wii U release date 'around November' says Ubisoft developer (who is probably wishing he hadn't)

A Ubisoft Montpellier employee has all but confirmed our suspicions that Wii U will be launched this November, according to an interview at E3. David Martinez, engine architect on Rayman Legends, first confirms that the game will launch with the new machine, and then (after speaking to his colleague and apparently ignoring his advice to suggest the interviewer speaks to a Nintendo rep), offers that he thinks the machine is coming out in November. Hear it for yourself here:

It does tie in with previous retail leaks and the fact that there are only so many months left in the 2012 launch period that Nintendo itself previously specified. But we do feel sorry for David here. You can see the tension in his cheeks after saying it. But cheek tension's probably the least of his worries right now.

The Xbox launched November 15, 2001. The Xbox 360 launched November 22, 2005. The Playstation 3 launched November 17 2006. The GameCube launched November 18, 2001. The Wii launched November 19, 2006. It's hardly rocket science that the WiiU will be released "around November" when it's Holiday 2012.

I'm sorry but are nintendo stupid, if it is the case that wii u is being launched november, shouldn't they be thinking we should tell people so they can save up for it, or do they not realise that alot of us lot are in a recession, and need time to save, is it not best for any company to get the release date out well in advance at a big media conference so the word can spread, i mean when are they going to let us no a couple months before and then hope we all have money to spend. i'm glad someone has spilled the beans i can now think whether or not i want to save up and get it.

He is so fired lol. Bless him, he was only trying to give the people what they want by asking questions. Got to admit, even though Nintendo don't have the "power" they are never short of ideas. First the Wii with motion controls, MS and Sony copying with there versions soon after. Then Wii fit. And now the Wii U with that clever controller, at first I didn't see the point in it but now I see the potential
