What John Cleese has to say about Fable 3

The latest developer diary video for Fable 3 talks up the game’s new GUI and dressing room. But as fascinating as it is to hear Lionhead Studios’ Peter Molyneux opine on the finer points of user interface, the real highlight of the video is footage of Monty Python’s John Cleese introducing the character he’ll be voicing in the upcoming RPG.

When it comes to the Fable series’ unique sense of humor, Peter Molyneux explains that “People have said, ‘Ah, it’s a British humor. It’s a bit like Monty Python.’ So we were inspired by that and so we went out there and we got the most iconic Monty Python character ever. John Cleese is one of the major players in Fable III.”

i have to disagree with you there. To be honest i would ratehr have someone with the ambition to push the boundries as developer, even if they do not deliver on all of them, than a developer who juststicks to the same formula. Fable 2 was a brillient game expanding on a previously just as brillient game. As for the 'removal of rpg aspects' they arent removing the rpg side completely just putting it into shadow as the series has always been a mix between rpg and action adventure. It was never a strict rpg. Also, in relation to your point about noone caring for their dog the complaints were so high when at the end of fable 2, 2 of the choices end in the death of your dog that they had to bring a way of reviving him in the DLC. This alone shows that many players develop a fondness for their ingame companion. I eagerly anticipate what Molyneux and co have in store for Fable 3 and have every faith in them that it will be a brillient and engaging game.

Peter Molyneux is such a bullshitter, he ruined the Fable series with his pseudo ambition. All his stupid as fuck ideas about loving your pet and caring about your (IN GAME) family. If anybody really gave a shit about either of them I haven't seen or heard anything to prove it. Don't get me wrong, I loved Fable 1 and beat it around 23 times now. But he ruined the amazing and classic storytelling that we saw in the first game. He sacrificed a truly memorable sequel that had almost endless potential. Here I was when I heard that they were taking the rpg element out of a damn RPG for Christ's sake! That was the only reason people liked the first installment so much. That's just as crazy as taking the stealth element out of a Splinter Cell game. Jesus i just want to bash his idiot face in for destroying my favourite series, but the best I can do is not go near Fable III.
