Darren: This weekend I'll be exploring the galaxy and torturing the neighbors. Right now indie space-sim FTL has me in its micromanagement grasp, and whether I'm opening the airlocks to suck the medbay fire out into space or rerouting power to the shields in order to fend off a barrage of missiles, I'm appreciating the change of pace in a game that, for once, isn't just about shooting guys in the way of the next checkpoint. I'm also getting acquainted with Rocksmith--it's finally getting released in Australia--and having never played an actual guitar in my life, I'm keen to see whether it can get me going in the realm of real music. Oh, and chances are I'll also dip into some more Tiny Tower, despite there being little to do beyond the occasional store restocking and admire my colour-coordinated floors, high-levelled employees, and my stockpile of over $260 million dollars. No, I don't have a problem. No, you're addicted. Shut up.
Sophia: Now that we aren’t having weekly updates for our Game Club, I am falling a bit behind with The Secret of Monkey Island. What I really mean is that I actually haven’t started. So I’ll be playing that one, and you should too! It’s one of my favorite games of all time, and I’ve played it so many times that I’ve lost count. It took me months to beat it the first time.
Sterling: It’s footy season. I’m dual-wielding both FIFA 13 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2013. Look for our FIFA review first thing Monday morning, and PES following the next day. My careers at Daniele De Rossi on both games are going swimmingly, and I haven’t gotten a red card yet, despite my numerous vicious tackles. I wish I could say that this is a temporary bout of footy fever, but really, this is just a fever pitch. Somewhere in all of this, I’m going to make time to watch the real thing this weekend, too.
Cooper: I’ll be diving deeper into the madness that is Faster Than Light (just as Darren is), and you can expect a review and some other fun with it next week. Besides that I’ll be playing a game that I can’t talk about, even though I want to talk about it.
Tom: Last weekend I successfully made a run for the Borderlands 2; har har, perhaps I should step away from this 100 punniest game titles feature. I’ve been hearing good things about this indie game FTL, a roguelike set in space, so I may see what that’s all about this weekend. Or I’ll just play more Borderlands 2--I have yet to take it online.
Lorenzo: It’ll be a reviews weekend for me. I’ll be jumping back into Darksiders 2 for the Argul’s Tomb DLC, as well as trying to bash people’s heads in as I put a little more time into War of the Roses. What’s War of the Roses you ask? Well, check out our War of the Roses Quickplay video to watch us play a full half hour of the multiplayer beta.
Henry: If you’ve been watching the many videos on the site
this week, you’ll see that I’ve been playing a ton of games at Tokyo Game Show,
from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance to Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney. The
show enters the public days this weekend, so if I’m able to brave the huge
crowds, I’m going to try to play some more Revengeance. And of course I’ll be
clearing out my 3DS StreetPass Plaza over and over again to try and collect as
many new Japanese Miis as I can.
Lucas: I’m jazzed about Demon’s Score, a crazy iOS title that’s like a rhythm game mixed with Infinity Blade mixed with an amazingly nonsensical story involving hellspawn and posessed teddy bears. So yeah, my goal is to 100% that game over the weekend. If I’m not too jetlagged after my return from Japan (Tokyo Game Show, how I loved thee), I’ll also work on getting my inept blood elf paladin up to snuff, in anticipation of the release of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria.
