The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct gameplay trailer

Ok, let's give this another try. Above you'll see the first official gameplay trailer for The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, the first-person game from Activision based off the AMC television program--not an unofficial (and rather unflattering) fan compilation of early footage.

It's got Merle and Daryl Dixon and their disparate attitudes toward humanity, alright, and plenty of zeds wandering about the streets of Georgia. If the trailer grabs your fancy, Activision has also revealed retailer-specific pre-order bonuses.

GameStop early birds will get exclusive access to a wave-based "Herd Mode" and Amazon pre-orderers will unlock additional melee weapons with the "Execution Pack," including a survival knife, kukri, and several varieties of machete.

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is due out on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on March 19 and Wii U on March 26.

Graphically it doesn't look too fantastic, but I also remember people bitching about the art style of the Telltale game, so I can't judge that much. Not to mention graphics aren't a necessity if the gameplay's fun. That aspect, however, is where I'm unsure. I'll wait until we get some actual reviews from trusted reviewers before I judge the game.

Looks like it belongs on the Ps2

Now that right there is just a stupid comment. You must be too young to have owned a Ps2.

Jesus... Why not get the Walking Dead episodes on disc and let people experience that instead of this horrific looking mess
  • Divine Paladin - February 9, 2013 11:13 a.m.

They are on disc. Well, if you mean the Telltale game's episodes, at least.

This still looks like it was done using partly melted barbie and Ken dolls

Need dem games for Wii U and i love the walking dead, though really wished they based it off the much superior comics or at least pull a telltale and make it original... lel... activision... original... heh.

Official trailer or not, it still looks like shit.
  • Z-man427 - February 7, 2013 1:43 p.m.

Looks like a PS2 game. That's not necessarily bad, but the trailer itself won't wow anyone.

Please let this game be good.

    It won't be, blame activision.
