They have no clue what piracy rates are. Also, they assume that every pirated copy is a lost sale. This is far from the case. I'd bet that most people who pirate wouldn't go out and pay $60 for the game if they couldn't pirate it. They just wouldn't play the game. Either way, the publisher isn't making money. If they aren't going to pay either way, why care if they pirate it? Also, fuck people who pirate. They just make things worse for all the grown adults with jobs who can afford to compensate their favorite game companies for their work. Most people who pirate claim they do it out of some moral standpoint or to stick it to the man. Or maybe they pirate a game just to find out they like it, so they pay full price for a legit copy. But then you have the thousands of people who pirate the Humble Bundle, where you can pay as little as one cent, and the money goes to sick kids. Fuck those assholes. Not the sick kids. The pirates.

Was about to type out pretty much this but it looks like you did it for me :P Furthermore, in what way does it make sense to say that DRM is necessary when you already have DRM and you still claim that 95% of the people playing your game on PC pirated it. Even if that statistic had any possibility of being correct, which it doesn't, what would adding more DRM do? Nothing other than piss more people off.

DRM = Do Rip Me Seriously, though, Ubi was asking for it.
