Fox is developing a show based on the classic DC character

Fox is developing a small screen version of the classic DC superhero, The Spectre.

According to Deadline , Brandon Camp ( John Doe) will write the adaptation and executive produce with Bill Gerber ( Gran Torino ). The show will center on “a former cop serving time in afterlife limbo who hunts down earthly criminals on behalf of the dead — and mortals soon to be dead, if ultimate justice is not served.”

The character was co-created by Superman creator Jerry Siegel and Bernard Baily, and first appeared in More Fun Comics #52 in 1940.
